Participant Callout : Pocket Money
published 8/8/2025Callout for paricipants for new project taking place September - November 2025

Pocket Money is a new moving image work that playfully and sincerely explores the experience of first-time employment. Using stop motion animation of plasticine, objects and images, in combination with film, the artwork will draw on and illustrate a collage of stories that are creative responses to research and filming conducted with young participants. Resulting in a work that uses surrealism and humour to explore experiences and emotions of young people entering the workforce as they move from being a ‘dependant’ to an adult, and how this experience may connect with becoming an independent consumer.
I am seeking participants for this new commissioned moving image work exploring youth employment. The work will be presented in Adelaide in 2026. The project is supported by Creative Australia and Carclew Youth Arts.

Prior to working on the project, participants under 18 will be required to provide a release/permission form signed by a parent or guardian. Participants 18 or over will be required to sign a release form.
